How to Step Into Your Divine Destiny
Discover and step into your God-Ordained calling.
Hey Beloved!
Last time, we explored the incredible truth that each of us has a God-given Purpose β a unique calling and set of good works He ordained for us. Well, hold onto your hats, because walking in that purpose leads us to something even grander: our divine Destiny! If purpose is the path, destiny is the glorious destination God has in mind for us, both in this life and for eternity.
God's Unfailing Plan: Your Destiny is Secure in Him
One of the most comforting things about our destiny in Christ is that itβs not dependent on our flawless performance, but on God's faithfulness and His sovereign power. His Word and His plans do not fail!
π Isaiah 55:11 (KJV) declares, "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." When God speaks a purpose over your life, His Word has the power to bring it to pass, leading you to your destiny.
Furthermore, God sees the end from the beginning. Heβs not making this up as He goes along! π Isaiah 46:10 (KJV) reveals His sovereignty: "Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:" Your destiny was settled in His heart before time began!
Known and Ordained Before You Were Born
This isn't a new idea God just came up with for you. He knew you, and had a destiny in mind for you, even before you were formed! π Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV) gives us a glimpse of this profound truth: "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." While this was specific to Jeremiah, the principle applies: Godβs foreknowledge and ordination precede our existence. He has a pre-destined plan for your life that unfolds as you walk with Him.
Quick Question: When you think about the word "destiny," does it feel exciting, overwhelming, or perhaps a bit mysterious? How does knowing God has a good and pre-ordained destiny for you change your perspective?
He Will Perfect What Concerns You
The journey towards our destiny might have twists and turns, but we can rest in the assurance that God is committed to completing the work He started in us. π Psalm 138:8 (KJV) is a beautiful promise: "The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands." He won't abandon you halfway! He is actively working to bring about His perfect will and destiny in your life. Our part is to trust Him and keep walking in obedience and faith.
Our Royal Destiny: To Show Forth His Praises
As we touched on when discussing purpose, our destiny is intrinsically linked to our identity in Christ. π 1 Peter 2:9 (KJV) reminds us of this high calling: "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:" Part of our glorious destiny is to be His representatives, shining His light and declaring His excellencies to the world. What an honor!
Scripture Meditation: His Unstoppable Counsel
Let this powerful truth about God's sovereignty anchor your soul as you consider your destiny:
π Isaiah 46:10 (KJV) β "Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:"
Meditate on the fact that nothing can thwart God's ultimate plan. His counsel for your life, His intended destiny for you, *will* stand. How does this assurance bring peace and confidence to your heart today?
